Quotes 34: 12-15

Monday, August 21st, 2006

So I am gonna start something new here. Recently (in the last two months) I was given the job and duty of taking on the Quote Book. It may sound silly to some but it’s a documentation of funny says, witty quips and just totally fuckin’ random things. This book was started by Lucas and some friends up at Lewis & Clark college and then was brought back here to Southern Oregon. Well, with the book in my hot little hands now I will post a few quotes from time to time. These are some of the moments that we have decided to log down because they have meant something and still do to this day.

*No quotes from Lindsey Lohan . . . . yet.

“Holy Shit Erik . . . you’re almost Japanese!” – Lucas

“It’s fuckin’ milky everytime!” – Nills

“The wind outside is bad . . . someone is going to die tonight!” -J.O. (January 1st, 2002)

“Scott, you need to invest in some weapson. Just so you can go kill things.” -Cuppy Cup

“I really, really, really wanna be a M.I.L.F.” -Nikki

It’s amazing how things sometimes happen. You can look back on events and just say to yourself “Wow, are you kiddin’ me?!” Last night was one of those nights.

So “The Boys” and I head to Rogue River to hear “Rocker Dan’s” new band, The Throwbacks. If good ol’ rock n’ roll was suppose to be on the menu last night, these guys were the Porterhouse Steak. Amazing. Just some fuckin’ rock music, pool and beers. Damn good times.

We leave to head back to Methford and drop of one of our soldiers that had WAY to much to drink. Devin and I are not done for the night so who better to ring than Foxxy and get her to go out to Howiee’s with us.

After pickin’ us up we head to get her friend Callie and then “do it to it” for the rest of the night.

The bar was hoppin’ and we knew this was going to be a good night. Going out for “just one beer” was thrown out the window. After gettin our drinks we hop at one of the tables and proceed to share it with this brother and sister who were just fuckin’ awesome. I am not saying that just cause they might read this, it’s true. You guys fuckin’ rock!

With two fingers down her “no gag reflex” throat one jello shot taken up the nose we then head to G.Z. For those of you who don’t know what that is. . . . stop reading now.

Dancing, drinking and laughing at dudes in NASCAR gear, what more could you ask for? Alright, girls who couldn’t dance there way out of wet paper fuckin’ bag, there you go! We run into the dynamic duo from earlier that evening and proceed to kick fully into 5th gear and paint Methford red, TWO COATS BITCHES!

Closing one bar down then closing G.Z. down what do we decide to do . . AFTER PARTY! Hot tubbing, audioblogging and more drinks. Scotty I know you were pissed but dammit . . . I HAD A BLAST and so did everyone else.

Post Script: Nikki, the sister of the duo had this to say about last night: “It’s on my top ten of fun fucking nights.” Go us!

Oh how the time has passed…

Dear Blog,

Birthday’s are an interesting event. When you reach that pinacle of being one year older it’s very invigorating! To know you are one year older or if you are a “Negative Nancy” you are one closer to the grave. However you look at you are still one year older and that’s a big improvement.

That is why this blog entry is dedicated to my blog. You are now officially one year older. Oh how the time has passed. To be able to tell you how much of an affect you have had on my life would take me a lifetime. To be able to tell you how much you have enriched my life would be impossible. You have been there in times when I was happy, sad, distraught, enigmatic, stressed and even when I had my full on breakdown in my life. You don’t judge, you just seem to listen. You are always there except for when my goddamn ISP is having troubles with the internet due to the extreme heat of the summer (even though I thought it was a pile of shit). You never run and hide. I know I can always look to for an ear to just vent to.

With each day you have been around you have helped me grow to. I have learned so much about myself by just having you in my life. You can never be replaced. Not even by your younger red-headed step-brother, the Audioblog. You will always be my lil baby. My first. My one and only.

I will never ever take for granted what you are capable of. You are there through thick and thin. No matter what you are always there by my side. There is no amount PEZ, no fortune or number of side boob shots of Lindsey Lohan that could make me feel as blessed as I feel to have you with me.

Love,

J.O.

Two plus Two equals Five

So I have been reading 1984 again. I tend to read that book every summer. It’s a wake up call each summer. Makes me think and ponder about what is going on in the world and what could possibly happen if we all just close our eyes and don’t get involved and let others run our lives.

Is it actually an impending doom story that Orwell saw coming but just might have been off by some years? No one knows but his depiction of what could happen.

And now a caption that is my favorite but opens my eyes whenever I read it. Enjoy.

“There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party. There will be no love, except the love of Big Brother. There will be no laughter, except the laugh of triumph over a defeated enemy. There will be no art, no literature, no science. When we are omnipotent we shall have no more need of science. There will be no distinction between beauty and ugliness. There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always — do not forget this, Winston — always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever.”
