Don’t read this…you’ll be spoiled

Well, I am not really going to “spoil” anything. But do any of you have those friends that do this:

Hey…don’t post anything on Twitter or Facebook about (insert show here), I am DVR’ing it and don’t want to have it ruined.

Sounds good. I won’t post anything on my Twitter or Faceb…wait a second…what?~! I can’t update my Twitter or Facebook because YOU don’t want to be spoiled and have the show ruined? Listen, I am sorry that you are not able to view at the same time as all of us. I know it must just suck. I have shows myself that I feel the same way about.

But guess what…I have a secret for you…I AM NOT GOING TO PUT MY LIFE ON HOLD CAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO HAVE YOUR SHOW RUINED FOR YOU!!

Really? I can’t update or use something that is PUBLIC DOMAIN cause you don’t want to be spoiled. Wow, let’s all just put our lives on hold until you catch up with the rest of us.

GIVE. ME. A. BREAK.

Oh and those of you that live on the West Coast and don’t want to have the people on the East Coast post on Twitter and FB cause you don’t want the show ruined…give it a break.

I have the solution to this problem. Seriously, it’s a great solution and it works BOTH for the DVR people and the West Coasters. Wanna hear it? Okay, here it is:

DON’T CHECK TWITTER AND FACEBOOK!

How about you have a little restraint and don’t let Twitter and Facebook run your lives? I say you give it a try.

Did he just tell me to NOT check Twitter and Facebook for a whole evening? Is he crazy?

Maybe I am a little crazy and SOMETIMES I may listen to the voices in my head but plan for solving this problem is SOUNDPROOF! IT WILL WORK! Try it!

Trust me!

In the end it just shows that we all depend on Facebook and Twitter if we are having to say on Facebook and Twitter about how we don’t want people to update their Facebook and Twitter cause WE don’t want to have a TV show spoiled.

Get over yourself. It’s a damn TV show.

P.S. This entry is three hours old and the people on the East Coast have already tweeted the HELL outta it.

An Open Letter

(I will be emailing this letter to the White House each day, till I get a response)

Dear President Obama,

I know you are not really going to read this. If you do end up reading this I hope you take action and do something! You have done tons of things for women at town hall meetings that have complained they couldn’t make payments on their homes and so forth…how about you help me?

I am a 30 year old man who has led a pretty good life. I did six years in the Air Force Reserves from 1997-2003. I was an Air Transportation Journeyman and I was good at my job. After 2003 I didn’t re-enilst due personal reasons and wanting to concentrate on college. Now I am going to admit it that I probably shouldn’t have given up on it but at that time in my life I was being led in a different direction.

Back to my main point.

I am writing this letter to ask you one question: What the hell are you doing? I know I am only one story in this economy and there probably THOUSANDS more like mine but things are just completely messed up in this country.

I did six years in the reserves and at a time when enlistment is down in this country and I am seeing videos of soldiers on CNN that are being arrested for deserting their duties and we are still fighting two wars it’s just amazing to me that I would go into an Air Force Recruiter and tell him “I would like to go into the Air Force. When can I go” and to have him turn me away because I am too old, or past a certain point of age limit or that they just don’t want anyone right now is just INSANE! I WANT TO GO ACTIVE DUTY and you are letting recruiters turn people away?! Are you insane?

My message to you is this: When I get done with my BA here in about a year and 1/2, I am going to see one more time if I can go active duty as an officer and if I am turned away again…well, you just will be making a terrible decision.

In a time when people are needing jobs and trying to make things work in their lives, you would think you would be open to anyone trying to go active duty in ANY of the 4 services. Yes, there are guidelines like you must have all your limbs, senses and no medical problems. Well, that was me and I was turned away. Thanks.

You run all over the world making speeches and trying to win the Olympics for the U.S. but you are forgetting one thing: Your citizens back home in the U.S. You don’t do all these things for us, you seem to me to be doing them to make yourself look good and keep your face in the news and spotlight. Well, here is one way to make things good, how about helping me go back into the Air Force? How about you concentrate on us back home? I keep hearing about job losses each month on the news and wonder to myself why I can’t get back into the military but the only person that would be able to let that happen would be you…the Commander and Chief.

You have all my information and a way to contact me. I will be here in Oregon, working and taking care of my wife and I and you do your thing out in D.C.

I would love to see you do something about this but tell you what…I aint holdin’ my breath.
